The story is beautifully written. Overall, I loved this children's book and look forward to reading more by Marc Remus in the future. "Not only is this 1982 Time-Life `Planet Earth' book a good, concise history of weather forecasting, it also contains descriptions, photographs and diagrams of some of the most fearsome hurricanes, typhoons, blizzards, and tornadoes to have plagued the 20th Century. The rest of the characters were so so, mostly characters that were already introduced in earlier books, and characters that I am hoping will eventually get their own book. She's brave, determined, strong, forced to fight against the debt but especially against the selfishness of her mother and her brother, too focused on themselves . Read the story of Lincoln Avenue and take a tour in 3-dimensional photos to see what is left of this classic stretch of roadside Americana. Each of us realize it is only a matter of time before the reader will need these elegant, groaning's and grieving's of a hurting, grieving heart's knowledge.
