Many of the couples are atypical and a few of the stories read like excepts instead of full novellas. And the recipes are simple and straightforward. The adjacent story was "Wal-Mart Targets Amazon. This started as an assignment from his English teacher (read a SF book). Even the afterword chapter bares reading because the author shares person insights into where he sees the city going based on its recent as well as distant past.
